Disclaimer of Liability and Use of Service

By purchasing and/or using the Karer Home Kit, you acknowledge and accept the following terms and conditions of use:

1. Purpose of the System
The Karer Home Kit provides general environmental and activity information using battery-powered smart monitors. It is designed to offer peace of mind and support, not to replace professional monitoring, supervision, or emergency response.

2. Third-Party Platforms
Karer devices work with third-party mobile apps (such as Tuya Smart or Smart Life) and connect via your home WiFi. Karer does not control these platforms and is not responsible for updates, service availability, or long-term compatibility. We hand over login details after setup. You are responsible for managing the account from that point.

3. No Monitoring or Emergency Service
Karer does not monitor your home, handle alerts, or provide emergency response. You (or your chosen contact) are responsible for checking the app and taking action if something seems wrong.
Notifications may not be received if your phone is off, has no signal, notifications are disabled, or the app fails to send alerts.

4. Battery-Powered Devices
All devices are battery-powered. Some may include solar charging support. You are responsible for:

  • Checking and replacing or recharging batteries
  • Ensuring solar-assisted devices receive adequate light
  • Testing the system regularly to confirm it is working

Karer is not liable for any loss of function or incidents caused by flat, faulty, or unmaintained batteries.

5. Data and Accuracy
Sensor readings are indicative only and may be affected by WiFi issues, battery levels, signal loss, app outages, or environmental factors.
Karer does not guarantee accuracy, notification delivery, or real-time alerts. Notifications may be missed due to app configuration changes, device compatibility issues, or third-party platform updates.

6. Not a Medical or Safety Device
Neither the Karer Home Kit nor any included component is:

  • A medical device
  • A life-saving system
  • A home alarm or security system

The Karer Home Kit is not a replacement for regular care, emergency planning, or supervision.

7. Limitations of Alerts and Notifications
The system may not send alerts if:

  • Devices are out of WiFi range
  • Batteries are low, flat, or removed
  • Sensors malfunction or become unpaired
  • The mobile app is uninstalled, disabled, or notifications are turned off
  • Platform changes affect app behaviour or alert rules

Karer is not liable for missed alerts, delayed notifications, or any consequences resulting from them.

7a. Motion Sensors
Motion sensors detect movement based on changes in infrared energy. Their effectiveness depends on sensor placement, height, and angle. Users must position sensors correctly to cover the intended area. Small animals or pets may trigger false alerts, while obstacles, furniture, or limited coverage zones may prevent detection. Karer is not responsible for missed or false alerts caused by sensor positioning, environmental conditions, or interference from pets.

8. Use and Misuse
The Karer Home Kit is intended for general awareness and proactive home monitoring. It is not designed to detect all possible risks, emergencies, or behaviours.
Do not rely solely on notifications for urgent or safety-critical situations.

Misuse or over-reliance on the system — such as assuming it will notify you in every situation — may result in harm. Users are expected to use the system responsibly and as one part of a wider care or risk-reduction strategy.

9. Limitation of Liability
Karer accepts no liability for:

  • Missed or delayed alerts
  • Incorrect installation or configuration
  • App errors, outages, or platform changes
  • Customer actions or inaction in response to alerts
  • Any loss, injury, or damage related to system use

10. Customer Responsibilities
You are responsible for:

  • Installing and maintaining the system, unless you have purchased the Home Installation option
  • Keeping the app and phone up to date
  • Ensuring devices remain connected
  • Replacing or recharging batteries when needed
  • Responding to notifications promptly

11. Self-Installation
If you choose any of the self-install options (including the Essentials pack), you are fully responsible for the correct setup and ongoing function of the system. This includes:

  • Following the setup guide and documentation in full
  • Correctly pairing each device with the app
  • Placing sensors securely and in appropriate locations
  • Testing the system after installation to ensure all components are working
  • Ensuring the mobile app is correctly installed and configured (including notification permissions, background activity, location settings, and WiFi access)

Karer is not responsible for:

  • Any errors or omissions during self-installation
  • Incorrect placement or configuration of sensors
  • App settings that prevent notifications from being received
  • Devices not connected or maintained properly
  • Any impact caused by failure to follow guidance or test the system

If you are unsure about any part of the installation, we recommend using a qualified installer or selecting a professional installation option where available.

12. Warranty
Devices
are sourced from trusted third-party manufacturers and typically come with a one-year warranty.

Karer will help you access warranty services, but we do not offer repair or replacement beyond the manufacturer’s terms.
